Fire Prevention Week, was established after the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, rumor has it that Ms. O'Leary's cow kicked over a lantern in the barn which started the tragic fire that destroyed the whole city. In 1920 President Woodrow Wilson issued the first National Fire Prevention Day Proclamation. So during this week of Fire Prevention our crews are visiting our local schools and day cares within our first run district to teach about fire prevention and fire safety. We would like to invite you and your family and friends to join us for our Fire Prevention Open House to be held at the West Bradford Fire Company sub station located at the corner of Marshallton Thorndale and Poorhouse Roads on Monday, October 17, 2016 between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. We will have fire extinguisher demonstrations, handouts and a smoke maze for the kids, among other items on display. Our crew will be available for questions and answers and to give you a tour of what we do as Volunteers.

Please join us Monday night, we would be glad to meet you.
