On Sunday, May 7, 2017 crews assembled to assist Friendship Dive-Rescue at the 36th annual Northbrook Canoe Challenge which benefits the Cerebral Palsy Association of Chester County. West Bradford Fire Co was staged at the low head dam near the KOA Campground along with members of Wagontown Fire Co, their boat and Modena EMS. Other units that assisted with the event are Telford (Montgomery County, PA) Diving & Rescue Unit, Modena Fire and EMS and Good Fellowship Ambulance. This race is a huge benefit to the Cerebral Palsy Association and we are glad to support them making sure the event is safe. Although the day was rainy, the air temperature was about 55 degrees, and the water temperature was about the same everyone had a good time and while some of the participants got wet, the Emergency Services were there to assist them in getting warm and helping them navigate the West Branch of the Brandywine Creek. Thanks to Zeke Hubbard and his crew at the Northbrook Canoe Co for making this another successful year.
