Friday evening at about 9:30pm, West Bradford Fire and Goodfellowship Ambulance received a dispatch for an automobile accident on W Strasburg Road east of Marshallton, the crews were advised that the vehicle struck a utility pole and the pole was down, blocking the roadway as well as live wires were down and arcing. Chief 39 arrived to confirm the report and requested PECO for the pole down and Penn Dot for salting the road, the roads at the time were snow and ice covered which created an additional hazard for responders. The crews arrived to check for additional hazards while Fire Police closed down the roadway. PECO arrived to shut down the power so the area was safe. EMS crews checked the patient who refused medical treatment. Penn Dot arrived to salt the roadway and the crew assisted PECO with removal of the pole so the road could be reopened.
