Two House Fires in 24 Hours

The last two days have been busy for the fire company. On Saturday Dec 23 at 1205 hours, the company was dispatched to a house fire in the 1100 block of Appleville Road in the Appleville Mobile Home Park. Units quickly responded and found a mobile home well involved. Crews were able to put out the fire but the home received extensive damage.

Less than 24 hours later, the box was struck on the 1400 block of Strasburg Road for a house fire. The initial report of a porch on fire was quickly upgraded to a fully involved structure. Crews arrived on scene and quickly determined the structural integrity of the house was compromised. Defensive operations were established and the house was drowned. Crews cleared the scene after 5 hours.

Special thanks to our mutual aid companies that responded with us!

I'm so thankful for the hard work of the crew on Christmas Eve. The house was next door to us and it was certainly terrifying to watch. All of the fire crew showed up, were polite and friendly even under stress. It was cold, it was windy, anytime the fire seemed to be out, it popped up somewhere else. Thank you for getting the fire out and ensuring it didn't spread to the apartments, or houses next to it. (And thanks for letting me take a photo of your crew!)
