Thursday evening the crews gathered to train and learn some basic commands on the mobile data computers that are mounted in some of our apparatus. The evening was led by BJ Meadowcroft and Justin McClure from Chester County DES. The computers allow us to receive important information, allow communications between the dispatcher and other apparatus that are equipped with the devices without talking on the radio, which can sometimes prove to be very valuable in high volume incidents such as storms or other large scale events, where we would not need to tie up the radio for voice transmissions. While DES was there, we also completed a review of the Harris portable radios. The training was interrupted when the company was dispatched for an Engine and Tanker to assist Station 38 in Caln Twp for a house fire, the units made a quick response, however, were recalled prior to arrival and the crews returned to the station to finish our weekly training.

Thank you to Justin and BJ for providing this important training to our members.
