Around 5:00 pm, West Bradford Fire Co was again dispatched for wires along Broad Run Road, the initial report was for a 3ft x 3ft area of leaves burning. Chief 39 made the response and initially held the units on station due to this being the third time we received a dispatch for this location and the previous times there was nothing we could do because of the live wires. Fire Police Captain Miller and Lieutenant 39B arrived to find a small area of leaves burning, with the fire spreading due to the winds. Chief 39 arrived and requested the Engine and Tac make the response. The crews arrived to a 25ft x 25ft area of brush burning, however, again could not extinguish the fire because of the live power lines. PECO had a crew on site however they could not shut the power down and requested an additional PECO crew with a bucket truck for that assignment. The TAC and the Engine crew positioned themselves up hill to protect the dwellings that sat on the hillside, while we worked with PECO to attempt fire suppression. Finally, it was decided that PECO would use their dry powder extinguishers to knock the fire down, which was successful. The crews then repositioned to await the bucket truck, once that arrived and shut down power the Engine crew wet down the remaining hot spots. Crews cleared around 6:30pm.
