Friday night assist to Station 38 Thorndale

Friday evening became quite busy for West Bradford Fire Co volunteers. Shortly after 6:00pm the first alarm assignment was dispatched to assist Thorndale Fire Co on the house fire, this dispatch brought Engine 39-1 and Tanker 39 to the scene, Engine 39-1 arrived to provide fire suppression assistance, followed by Tanker 39 which supplied Ladder 49's crew with a water supply. Engine 39-3 arrived as part of the second alarm and was assigned to stand by to cover other calls within the district. Shortly after arrival of Engine 39-3, they and Tanker 39 were re-assigned to the reported commercial building fire at the Giant Super Market, this alarm brought Station 36, 35, 41, 6, 45, 44, 37, 47. Units arrived to find a fryer in the deli area that had caught fire and was extinguished by the employees, with a smoke condition in the building, all crews checked for extension, began ventilation to remove the smoke and reset the fire alarm. West Bradford units cleared and returned to the initial alarm to assist with overhaul and a final building check. Units cleared shortly after 9:00pm and returned to service, ready for the next alarm.
