Sunday, May 20 the crews assembled shortly before 10:30 am to prepare for a important event within our community. The day began with an automatic fire alarm, and then clean up and preparations for West Bradford Day at Broad Run Park. We arrived a the park to begin set up and staging of the apparatus. We set up our Recruitment tent in hopes of gaining some new volunteer members, (maybe next time). We set up a dunk tank where the participants were able to use a firehose to dunk a firefighter, (as long as you had a good aim). We had a silent auction that produced some very nice prizes that were donated by businesses that we serve. However, the biggest surprise for the kids was the "Kid's Challenge" were the younger inspiring firefighters get to dress up like us and perform some of the tasks that we do on a weekly basis or at training, such as a hose carry, running through a cone maze, and squirting a fire hose just to name a few. Everyone had a great time and the weather was good, (just some rain drops). We returned to station and cleaned up for the day around 6:00pm, to go home to our families.
