Shortly before 6:30pm the company was dispatched to the Newlin Twp section of our district for the AFA (Automatic Fire Alarm). Engine 39-1 w/Chief 39 and Engine 39-3 responded shortly after dispatch, Engine 39-3 arrived first followed by Engine 39-1, and began to investigate. Upon entering the residence Lieutenant Curdo reported a smoke condition in the dwelling and assumed Command. Additional crews entered the residence and found a malfunctioning microwave. Crews removed the microwave to the outside of the dwelling, checked for any extension and went in service with ventilation. After the situation was under control, the crew began talking with the homeowner and our new friend Isabella, whom was fed a strawberry by Fire Fighter Jimenez, the company cleared shortly after 7:00pm.
