Thursday evening, the stations gathered for our regularly scheduled drill night. As we were preparing to leave to go out to our training site the company was alerted for an Engine to relocate to Station 51, First West Chester Fire Co while they were assisting Longwood Fire CO at the Pocopson Home. The balance of the crews continued to training at the pond at Highland Orchards. The crews practiced drafting from a static water source which in this case was a pond. As the crew rotated through several evolutions of drafting Engine 39-1 returned from Station 51 and began their evolution drafting from the pond. This procedure is performed when there are no fire hydrants in the area, and a large water supply may be needed.
