On Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:00am, Daylight Savings Time will begin. As technology has evolved, and smart phones, tablets, computers and the such will automatically adjust their time, you may have a simple clock in your residence or business that may have to be manually adjusted to reflect the time change. Most importantly this is also a good time to check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and change the batteries if applicable. We also recommend checking the date on the back of these devices as most are only good for 10 years. We recently had an incident where the smoke detectors were approximately 18 years old. Please check your detectors weekly and replace them or the batteries per manufacturer recommendations, as working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors do save lives, we have witnessed this first hand.
