Wednesday afternoon, the company received a call for an unknown type fire in Newlin Twp off Stargazers Road, Chief 39 made the response and was advised by a member passing by that it appeared to be a large brush fire, with Wednesday being declared a Red Flag Warning by the National Weather Service and DCNR, the Chief requested Po-Mar-Lin Fire Co for their Brush truck to assist. Units arrived to find approximately one half acre of field involved moving towards a large wooded area and multiple exposures. The crews made a quick knockdown of the fire before it was able to get into the woods and or damage any exposures. Units remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes wetting down the area. While the crews were finishing up, the assignment was dispatched to assist East Brandywine Fire CO on a dwelling fire, Rescue 39 and Engine 39-2 made the response and assisted there for approximately one hour. While returning from East Brandywine, WBFC was alerted for a single vehicle accident in East Bradford Twp at Route 322 and Creek Road. Units cleared shortly after arriving and returned to Station.

Please pay attention to weather conditions, when performing a controlled burn and make sure the fire is completely extinguished and the embers are cool before leaving the fire unattended. Also check your local municipalities rules and regulations on outdoor fires, as some do not permit open burning.
