4 Call day for West Bradford

May 24 - The members had a busy afternoon today. The first call of the day was a response to United Sports Training Center to assist ambulance and medic 46 (Minquas) with an injured person. After a quick assessment it was determined the patient was not injured and he was released to his guardians. As the utility was clearing USTC, the Chester County Fire Radio advised the Chief that they were dispatching units to the area of Rt. 162 to the rear of Embreeville Center for a water rescue. While responding to the area, CCFR advised that the call would be for an injured person in a canoe. After a few minutes of locating the canoe, the patient was removed and eventually flown to a trauma center. Upon clearing that emergency, CCFR advised of a resident in need of a lift assist on the East Bradford area of our district. Utility 39, with the boat still in tow, made the response and assisted the resident back into her residence.

About 45 minutes after clearing the lift assist, Station 39 was dispatched to Romansville and Strasburg for an outside smoke investigation. Chief 39 arrived in the area first and determined the smoke was coming from a local controlled burn, and recalled the assignment.
