Weekend Boot Drive
November 22 - This weekend the members conducted a boot drive to support an appreciation dinner for the Active Crew of the Fire Company. In previous years, the active fire fighters and their families would attend a dinner provided by the Fire Company as a thank you for all that the fire fighters do and a thanks to the families for their continued support. This year due to some financial restrictions, the members of the Active Crew needed to raise the funds to support this dinner. Despite some snow squalls and temperatures hovering in the 30's, the two day event saw participation from almost every member of the Active Crew. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Boot Day and a very special visitor!
November 21 - Today the members conducted day 1 of a 2 day boot drive to support the "Active Crew" dinner in December. A special thanks to all those who made a donation. As the day was ending, the members on station received a special visitor, Lynn McGowan. Lynn was involved in a very serious car accident earlier this year, and now that she has completely recovered, she wanted to stop by to thank those who helped her in her time of need. Needless to say, the members were extremely happy to see Lynn, as we usually don't know what happens to our patients after they leave our care. Lynn and her family spent a few minutes talking with the members, about the accident, her recovery, and what she has been doing since. It is visits like this that make doing our job a little extra special, and we wish Lynn and her family all the best.

Morning snow storm
November 20 - This morning brought the first accumulation of snow to the area since February. As the morning rush hour was getting underway the Members were alerted to Glenside Road north of Romig Road for an auto accident. Initial reports indicated 5 or 6 vehicles blocking the road on Glenside. Engine 39-3 made the response and on arrival found the vehicles had left the scene. A call was placed for the Township road crew to attend to Glenside Road, as the cover of snow was making the road impassable. As Engine 39-3 was returning from Glenside Road, the Chester County Fire Board dispatched them to Strasburg Road east of Hunt Dr. for another auto accident. As Engine 3 arrived on location the crew quickly determined that the driver of one vehicle was confined and needed extrication. The crew popped the door and 2 patients were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Units on location: Engine 39-3, Ambulance 55-1(Strasburg Rd), Ambulance 55-3 (Strasburg Rd), Ambulance 37-1 (Glenside Rd)
