December 10, 2006 - Sunday afternoon the members were dispatched to the intersection of Marshalton-Thorndale and Poorhouse Roads for an accident with entrapment. Engine 39-3 was first on location, and advised 1 uninjured person confined in a vehicle. At this point the response was reduced to a standard auto accident response. Units were on location for approximately 30 minutes with hazard and traffic control.

Units on location: Rescue 39, Engine 39-3, Traffic 39, Ambulance and Medic 46, 39 Chief Officers (Buttner, J. Fairweather, G. Fairweather, G. Allison)

 

December 8, 2006 - During the evening rush hour in West Bradford, the members were dispatched to Shadyside Road in the area of Broad Run Rd for the auto accident reported serious. Assistant 39-A (G. Fairweather) arrived first to find a vehicle which had flipped off Shadyside Road and down into a ravine. Fortunately all patients had self-extricated and were uninjured. Medical evaluations were performed, and the Company stood by for lighting while the State Police investigated and the tow company removed the vehicle. Units were on location approximately 1 hour.

December 2, 2006 - In the mid evening hours, the 39 House was alerted to the area of the Embreeville Center Complex on Strasburg Road for the Auto Accident. Assistant 39-A was first on location, reporting a 2 vehicle head-on accident with multiple entrapment. Chief Buttner arrived on location and assumed "Strasburg Command". Engine 39-3 arrived soon after and began the extrication. Due to staffing issues, Rescues from Station 36 (Po-Mar-Lin) and 53 ( Fame of West Chester) were added to the assignment. After some extensive tool work, and great teamwork by all parties involved, 2 patients were flown to local trauma centers with serious injuries. Companies were on location approximately 3 hours.

Units on Location: Engine 39-3, Command 39 (Buttner) Assistant 39-A (G. Fairweather), Rescue 53, Squad 53, Squad 38, Rescue 38 (Standby for WBFC)
