Snow is on the way - CLEAR your FIRE HYDRANTS - make them VISIBLE and ACCESSIBLE!

A potentially major snow storm will impact the area Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Please take a few extra minutes while out shoveling your driveways and show some love to your neighborhood's fire hydrant!

Make your fire hydrant VISIBLE - able to be seen while entering your neighborhood. Create a clear line-of-sight so the hydrant can be seen entering/exiting your street. Place reflective markers near it so it can easily be found at night.

Make your fire hydrant ACCESSIBLE - clear the area from the road to the hydrant so it can be easily accessed. Additionally clear a 3 - foot area on all other sides of the fire hydrant.

The fire hydrants located in front of or near your property are critical in our efforts to protect your home or business. A few minutes delay in getting water on a fire can dramatically impact fire behavior and life safety for entrapped persons - fire doubles in size roughly every 30 seconds!

Driving Reminders: If your wipers are on, your headlights are on. Remove snow off your entire car - yes, even the roof. If you must go out, drive cautiously and drive slow.

Stay safe!
