Busy afternoon for West Bradford volunteers

Monday April 6, 2015 proved to be a busy one for west Bradford firefighters.

Starting around 1251 hours, Station 39 was dispatched to the 1300 block of Glenside Rd. for a brush fire. Brush 39, Tac 39, and Engine 39-1 extinguished a small brush fire and cleared after about an hour.

At 1609 hours, Station 39 was dispatched to 1500 block of Broad Run Rd. for a field fire. Brush 39, Tac 39, Tanker 39, Engines 39-2, and 39-3 quickly made the response to find a rapidly growing fire. Crews quickly got the fire under control with the assistance of station 37 (Modena) and station 36 (PO-MAR-LIN). Units cleared after about an hour.

Immediately after the second incident, Brush 39 was dispatched to relocate to Station 36, but while enroute were requested to go to the 500 block of Mill Rd to assist Station 36 with their woods fire. Shortly after, Tanker 39 was dispatched for water supply and an additional engine for manpower.

Units cleared the scene then returned to station around 1830 hours and went available around 1900 hours.
