This past weekend, West Bradford and other Chester County volunteers completed a 16 hour class on Wildland Urban Interface Firefighting. Wildland Urban Interface Firefighting is designed to teach firefighters how fight wood and brush fires that pose a direct threat to houses or other structures built in the affected environments. This course was designed by the National Fire Academy with assistance from the National Wildland Coordination Group. Trainees learned about weather, fire behavior, firefighter safety and firefighting operations that occur during wildland fires.
