As we are now in the middle of our Memorial Day weekend, enjoying the weather, friends and food. Please remember why we are able to enjoy the freedom to perform these simple everyday tasks as well as other holidays through out the year. We are able to enjoy these things because of the men and women who have given of themselves to protect our nation, these men and women are someone's loved ones, a son, brother, father, sister, mother, and or a daughter and they have not returned to enjoy what they have fought for. We must remember their acts as we participate in the daily activities that consume our lives.

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day and history tells us it was established sometime around 1861. Memorial Day as we know it, is a day of Remembrance, to remember the fallen, who have fought for this Country and have not returned.

So I would ask that you take some time out of your schedule to Remember those who have not returned from the conflicts both near and far, today and yesterday or from years past. It only takes a minute to Remember and Thank the ones that have given their lives to protect the United States of America, so that we can meet with friends, eat at picnics, and watch the parades this week that will be in Memory of our fallen.
