| This weekend brought closure to a very tragic event. The viewing on Friday bore testament to Robbie's wonderful personality, with the line of mourners filling up the Good Will's engine bay and extending down the sidewalk.
Saturday marked the procession and funeral services for the Captain. Apparatus from the West Bradford Fire Company, Alert Fire Company, East Brandywine Fire Company, and the Good Will Fire Company made a procession that worked its way past the fire stations that Robbie was currently serving. Along with a management team from the Chester County Department of Emergency Services, a large team of police officers from many jurisdictions and a detail of fire police assisted with traffic control. The procession ended at the Good Will Fire Company where the services were held.
Family and friends witnessed a beautiful service to Robbie with many poignant speakers. Each speaker brought fourth many happy memories of the dearly deceased. Around noon, the procession was reformed and began its way to the Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square, PA. Upon arrival, Robbie's casket was dismounted from the Alert Fire Company's 1969 Mack pumper and carried past the crisp salutes of the firefighters to its final resting place. There, all in attendance gave their final farewells to a great man and servant of the public.
The West Bradford Fire Company would also like to extend our deepest thanks to all the fire companies that offered assistance to us in this time of loss. It was truly awe-inspiring and we had more help than we could accept. Thank you to the companies from Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, and Berks Counties who covered for us.
