Thank You to our Fire Police |

| While we often report on incidents that involve vehicle accidents, fires and other emergencies, and the dedicated personnel that respond to these emergencies, we always forget to mention a very important group of people that respond to provide protection to the responders, the bystanders and the general public. This group of individuals are our Fire Police, these individuals are often positioned out in the middle of no where, exposed to every weather condition imaginable and more often than not get abused verbally by the motorist that are being detoured around the emergency scene. They often deal with irate motorist that are upset because they are being detoured and have to take additional time to get to their destination, while the purpose for this detour may be for the safety of the motorist and the other responders. The fire police are most always the last ones on the scene, while the police investigate, the tow companies clean up the vehicle accidents, and we are waiting for the power company to remove the downed wires or the road crews to make the area safe. This is a "thankless" job. So please next time you are detoured or delayed by a Fire Police Officer, remember they are probably doing this for everyone's safety and best interest. If you feel a bit of anger, smile, wave and say Thank You, I bet it puts a smile on your face and theirs. I personally would like to THANK our Fire Police and all the others that perform this task. Thank you, |
