On Saturday August 23, 2014 Engine 39-1 and 8 members traveled to Christiana Fire Company in Lancaster Co. along with other local fire companies to assist them with their annual Kids Fire Experience Camp. This years theme was "Step into the boots of a firefighter". This Camp gives the children who attend first hand experience at what it is like to be a firefighter. This year over 185 children attended and participated in the camp that consist of 17 different stations ranging from but not limited to fire prevention, putting out a fire with hoses and extinguishers, haz-mat operations, what the Red Cross does after the fire and what the EMT's and paramedics do at a scene.

We provided stand by coverage for their company as well as assisting with one of the many stations that was on fire extinguisher use and demonstration.
