The West Bradford Fire Company would like to remind our great community to change your clocks; but more importantly, change the batteries in your detectors! Each year countless lives are saved due to working smoke and CO detectors. These detectors provide the first alert in an emergency and can give you and your family the time needed to get out safely.

In 2011, the U.S. Fire Administration reported 3,005 deaths related to house fires. Of these, 25% had smoke detectors installed in their household that failed to operate. "Smoke alarm failures usually result from missing, disconnected, or dead batteries" ( Smoke Alarms in U.S. House Fires ). Having a properly working smoke/CO detector in your household can reduce your risk of death by half!

Have a question about your detector? Call or stop-by either station and our firefighters will gladly answer your concerns.
