Fire Prevention and the West Bradford Fire Company
At the West Bradford Fire Company, we are dedicated to our fire prevention demonstrations and the education of children and adults with what to do in case of an emergency. We hold many different activities and programs throughout the year. The week of October 10 is National Fire Prevention Week. From Monday to Friday we go around to the surrounding day cares and elementary schools to do presentations on fire prevention. We teach kids how to exit their home in an emergency and find a safe place, stop/drop/and roll, and also several other important details that will help the children know how to safely contact help in case of an emergency.
On the Monday after Fire Prevention Week, the West Bradford Fire Company always holds an annual open house with events that follow along with fire prevention. This is a chance for adults and children to come explore the firehouse and ask any questions that they have for their local volunteer fire company.
Other than going to the schools to help with their fire prevention, West Bradford also aids in helping boy scouts and cub scouts with the completion of several different merit badges and activities. Merit badges offered include emergency preparedness, fire safety, and first aid. We also participate in different community events and block parties when requested by a homeowner’s association or neighborhood. We are always willing to do birthday party visits as well.
