The West Bradford Volunteers took advantage of a break in the winter weather over the weekend to dig out snow covered fire hydrants in the department’s first due area. A total of 24 hydrants were uncovered and cleared of snow to allow for greater visibility and accessibility in case of an emergency. The hydrants cleared are located in the town of Marshallton along Strasburg Road and the Brandywine Green development off of Shadyside Road. Volunteers hope to raise the community’s awareness regarding fire hydrants in the winter months. Hundreds of fire hydrants exist in the township and surrounding areas and we cannot reach all of them. We ask that YOU take it upon yourself to ensure the fire hydrants in your community are cleared of snow and debris. Exposed and visible fire hydrants can save valuable time in an emergency!
