1942 International K-Series, full cab

Purchased used in 1953 from the Bristol Volunteer Fire Company #6 Bristol Borough (Bucks County) to become their first truck. Bristol had purchased it used in 1946 from the War Assets Corporation. It was housed on 2/27/54. It was involved in a accident a couple of months later on 6/1/54 while responding to a call. It was demolished and a firefighter lost his life in the accident.

1932 White, semi-cab

This was purchased used from the Wilmington Fire Company, Delaware, to replace the 1942 Chevrolet lost in the accident. It was housed 5/14/55.

1954 International R/Seagrave, full cab

The chassis was purchased from E. Pierce Darlington of West Chester. It was housed on 5/14/55 at a cost of $10,000. It stayed in service for 30 years and was sold in 1985 to a WVA contractor.

1953 Willys Jeep 4X4 field piece

1963 International Loadstar 1700/National Foam, full cab 4X4 pumper

Pto field pump for pump and roll, rounded rear fenders, 15,000 lb winch mounted on front bumper pan. It was sold in 1978 to the newly formed fire company in East Allen Township (Northampton County), repainted at this time. East Allen sold it in 1980 to Kelseyville, CA.

1963 Willys Jeep - 4X4 field piece

This was purchased new with the help of S&H Green Stamps. The chassis was sold out of the fire service in 1985.

1973 Dodge Power Wagon W300/Stahl, full cab, 4X4,

Built by company members and used as a rescue unit. It was housed on 9/16/78. It was sold in 1985 to a company in Virgina.

1973 Ward LaFrance Vantage, 4-door seven man cab

Ford 534 CI gas, V-8, automatic, built on a Ford C COE chassis, “suicide” style front cab doors, tilt-cab, enclosed pump panel door, black stripe, concept was way ahead of it’s time, company thought about purchasing it, decided against it, minor problems, doors came open enroute to calls, pump panel door would not open, was used as a loaner in late 1973/early 1974 when they were waiting for the new pumper to come in. Nicknamed the “Luner Loaner”.

1974 Ford F700/Ward LaFrance, full cab

“Plain Jane” pumper, was used as a loaner in 1974 when they were waiting for the new pumper to come in.

1974 Ward LaFrance Ambassador, canopy cab

This was the first canopy cab ordered by the company. It was housed on 9/16/78, Cat 3116, 250 HP, manual transmission, Wisconsin 3.5 KW generator. It was refurbed, rebodied, and repainted by LTI in 1987. Transmission blew in early 2000, tough to get parts for.

1978 Ward LaFrance Patriot, canopy cab 4X4


LG pumper, Detroit 6V53, 2-speed automatic. This was one of two Air Force prototype demonstrators (military version P12) that were built (the other went to Linfield, Montgomery County). It was repainted prior to delivery. It has a heated (diesel fueled hot-air furnace) insulated pump compartment with covered booster reels. It was housed on 9/16/78. It was sold in 1986 to West Alexander (Washington County). They sold it in 1992.

1967 White Compact/Heil, tilt cab, tandum axle elliptical tanker

This was originally a milk tanker that the company purchased used and converted to the fire service in 1982-83. It was housed on 9/21/85. It was sold to a dealer in the south in January of 1992.

1984 GMC 7000/Saulsbury, full cab, 4X4 custom non walk-in rescue

427 CI gas motor, 210 HP, 5-speed manual transmission, Onan 12.5 KW generator, 4-bottle 6000 psi cascade. It was housed on 9/21/85.

1985 Jeep CJ-5, 4X4 field piece

258 CI gas motor, 4-speed manual ransmission. It was housed on 8/6/88. It was repainted and relettered in early 1993. It was repainted and relettered again in June of 2001.

1986 Jeep Cherokee, 4X4 QRS unit

It was housed on 8/6/88. This is the only piece which was all white in color, 2.5L gas motor, 4-speed manual transmission. It was stolen out of the substation on the night of 2/19/92 and found a day later vandalized along the local railroad tracks. It was out of service a couple of months being repaired.

International/Oren, pumper

Lloaned to the company by the Millcreek Fire Company (New Castle County, DE) for three months in 1986 when the 1978 Ward was sold and the 1974 Ward was getting a new motor.

1987 Spartan Monarch/Saulsbury, canopy cab

It was oused on 8/6/88, 8V92TA Detroit diesel, 475 HP, automatic, Onan 6 KW generator. While responding to a call one night in early 1989, it rolled over slightly injuring the firefighters on board. There was extensive damage to the engine and it was sent back to Saulsbury to be rebuilt. It was out of service all of 1989 and 1990. It was involved in another accident on Telegraph Road on 8/9/96 while responding to a AFA at a private residence. The engine went up the private drive crossing a bridge which collapsed. Unfortunately more damage was done to it trying to get it out. It was sent to Saulsbury the very next day. It was returned from Saulsbury on 12/21/96 and placed back into service on 1/2/97.

1961 Ford C-850 Super Duty/Midwest, full cab

This was purchased used by the Martins Corner Fire Company (Chester County) from the Westwood Fire Company (Chester County) in 1986. The company never had it repainted or lettered to match the other units. Loaned to West Bradford (Chester County) in 1989 when they lost the 1987 Spartan/Saulsbury pumper to the accident. It was given back to Martins Corner who sold in 1990 to a company in Ohio.

1972 Mack CF-685-F12, canopy cab

This was purchased used in 1989 from the Union Hose Company of Allester, New York, for $50,000 to replace the 1987 Spartan/Saulsbury while it was being repaired. It was never repainted to match the other units in the company, 235 HP diesel motor, 2-speed automatic. It was retained by the company when the 1987 Spartan/Saulsbury was returned from Saulsbury. It was loaned to the Glenmoore Fire Company (Chester County) from 9/91 - 2/92 when their tanker was destroyed in a crash. It was sold in 1994 for $35,000 to Alum Bank Community Fire Company (Bedford County). It was lettered for the new company prior to leaving West Bradford.

1992 International F-2674/Saulsbury, full cab

Cabinet style tanker, Cummins N-14, 370 HP, Eaton-Fuller 9-speed manual transmission. It has a rather short chassis for the amount of water it carries. It went into service 8/19/92.

1985 Ford Club Wagon Van

Purchased used in 1993 from a local YMCA. It was converted to a fire police and manpower unit by the members. Replaced in 2001, converted to a utility unit.

1994 Spartan Metro Star/National Foam, 4-door raised cab

Cat 3116, 300 HP, automatic, Stadco 7.5 KW generator, cost
$198,000. A weight problem was discovered in January of 1997-the front axle was overweight by 500 lbs.

1978 Ford C-8000/Pierce, canopy cab

1000/750, Cat 3208R Diesel, 240 HP, automatic, 6 Kw generator. It was loaned from the Longwood Fire Company (Chester County) in 9/96 when the 1987 Spartan/Saulsbury was out being repaired. It was returned to Longwood on 1/4/97.

1976 Dodge Power Wagon/Pierce

250/250, mini-pumper, 360 CI gas motor, 4-speed manual transmission. In March of 1998 it was purchased
YW from the state by Highland Orchards for $1,200 were it was in service at the Embreeville Center (former state hospital) in the township which closed it’s doors and it was no longer needed, given to the company, It was repainted by an individual on Rt. 162 near the Center. Placed into service at the sub-station in 3/99, used extensively on the night of 3/14/99 when a major snow storm hit the area and it ran numerous tree’s & wires calls all night. Not officially placed into service until 4/8/99.

1980’s Chevrolet chassis, enclosed utility body

Donated by the state in late 1998 where it was used by the National Guard in the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

2001 Ford F-250/Reading

2-door extended cab, 4x4, V-8 Triton gas, automatic, open compartmented utility body, purchased right off the lot from Brian Hoskins Ford-Thorndale on 4/13/01. Placed into service on 10/11/01 as a traffic unit.

2002 KME Renegade LFD

4-door six man raised cab, non walk-in rescue, 250PTO/300/10, Cummins ISM diesel, 500 HP, automatic, Hale Foam Master 3.3 Class A, two 20 KW AMPS hydraulic generators, two Wil-burt light towers, Warn 12,000 lb. front mounted winch, 75 cfm PTO driven Rotary Screw air compressor, oil dry hopper, rollup doors, cost $442,000.
