House Fire Assist to Thorndale
February 29 - Friday evening the members of Station 39 were dispatched to the 100 block of Walnut St in Caln Township for a House Fire. Engine 39 -3 arrived on location as the second engine company, dropped a line and made entry to the residence to assist crews from Rescue 38 and Tower 45 (Downingtown), that were searching for the fire in the area of the chimney. After some work opening up and extinguishing the small area of fire that was found, the members were relieved by additional crews from Downigntown and Thorndale. 39 units were released after about an hour.

Morning Accident with Confinement
February 5 - Monday morning Station 39 was dispatched to the 1200 block of Shadyside Road for an automobile accident. Safety 39 (M. Groover) arrived on location with Ambulance and Medic 46 to find a vehicle off the roadway with the driver confined inside. Engine 39-3 arrived under the Command of Firefighter C. Carrero and immediately went to work with the tools to free the occupant. With some quick work by the crews on scene the patient was freed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. Engine 39-3 awaited the tow service and cleared after about an hour.

Afternoon High Angle Rescue
February 2 - Saturday afternoon the members of Station 39 were dispatched to the 1100 block of Yankee Drive for a residential rescue. Chief 39 (W. Buttner) arrived on location to find a resident who had been doing work on the roof of his residence. The resident has become stuck on the roof and needed some assistance getting back to ground. Rescue 39 and Engine 39-3 arrived shortly after, and went to work throwing a ladder and escorting the homeowner down. Units cleared in about 30 minutes.

Icy road leads to early wake up call.
February 2 - Saturday morning brought a light coat of ice to local roads. Approximately 7am Station 39 members were dispatched to the 1100 block of Marshallton-Thorndale Road for an auto accident. Chief 39 (W. Buttner) arrived on location to find a SUV partially into a residence. The driver of the vehicle had self extricated. Engine 39-3 arrived shortly after the Chief, and went to work securing the vehicle and checking the residence for structural damage. As most of the damage was superficial, the house was turned back to the homeowner, and the fire apparatus cleared after about an hour.

Evening Trailer Fire
January 27- Around 11 PM Station 39 was dispatched to relocate an engine to Station 23 (Avondale) while the brothers from the 23 House were assisting West Grove (Stations 12 & 22) with a house fire. As crews were enroute to the station, Chester County Fire Radio advised Chief 39 to disregard our relocate as we were being dispatched to the 1000 block of Stargazers Road for a house fire. Assistant 39 (G. Fairweather) was first on location, confirming a working fire in a mobile home. Engine 39-3 arrived and ran an 1 1/2" line through the front door. Crews met high heat and fire in the living room of the trailer, but make a quick knock on the fire. Chester County Fire Marshals determined the fire to be electrical in origin. Units cleared after 3 hours.

Early Morning Accident
January 27- Station 39 was dispatched shortly after 1am to Romig Road just east of Rt. 322 for an auto accident. Ambulance 46-2 arrived on location and advised that the accident was property damage only, but thre was a need to secure the vehicle's systems prior to removal by the tow company. Chief 39 held the assignment to Engine 39-3, which secured the vehicle and cleared. The Engine returned after 10 minutes.

Assist to Glen-More Fire Company
January 24- The members of Station 39 were requested to assist Station 48 with a standby assignment. Station 48 members needed time to prepare for the funeral of Assistant Fire Chief Wuertz. Engine 39-3 with a crew of 5 covered for Glenmore from 0000hrs until 0700hrs. The members of West Bradford continue to keep Chief Wuertz and the brothers at Glenmore in their thoughts and prayers.
