January 24/25 - Assist to Coatesville City

Tonight the members were alerted for a relocate to the City of Coatesville to cover for City Fire Department while they battled several working dwellings on Fleetwood Street.

While enroute to the scene, Engine 39-3 was alerted to respond to the fire scene on the 3rd alarm.

Engine 3 assisted with numerous operations on the fireground. 15 homes were lost as a result of this fire.

January 17/18 - 6 Calls in 24 hours

These 2 days were busy for the members of West Bradford. Members were dispatched Saturday afternoon to the East Bradford portion of the district for a house fire. The members were on location quickly, and continued the extinguishment efforts begun by the West Chester Police Department. Durning the evening hours the Company was sent to Glenside Road for an auto accident, which was determined to be property damage. Minutes after returning the members were alerted to the same area for a chimney fire. After a complete investigation, no problem was found. During the overnight hours the members were again alerted to Glenside Road for an odor investigation inside a dwelling, which was determined to be a malfunctioning heater motor. Later in the morning the members were dispatched to Embreeville Road for an auto accident, and later in the day to Rt 322 for the report of another accident. January 12 - First Technical Rescue of 2009

This evening some of the members were at the Poorhouse Road Station, taking in some physical activity on "Hoop 39" when a call came in over the station phone. The call was for one of the oldest requests for the fire service.. a cat stuck in a tree. Never wanting to say no to the residents, the crew responded Engine 39-3 to the 1300 block of Edwards La. After 2 hours and an excellent display of climbing by FP Lt Trumbower (also a tree surgeon) "Cole" was rescued and returned to his owner. Units on location: Engine 39-3, 39-31

January 3

The members of West Bradford took today to catch up on some maintenance and upgrades to enhance the efficiency and functionality of Engine 39-3. Most of the members, including a few new one spent 13 hours, cleaning, organizing and reengineering the equipment and the Engine. Everyone worked hard and had a great day! January 1 - First Calls of 2009

The members of West Bradford began the new year's runs just after 2 am. They were alerted to Glenside Road at Marshalton Thorndale Road for an auto accident. Rescue 39, and Utility 39 responded within minutes. After several minutes of looking Ambulance 46-2 found the accident at Glenside Road and Seeds Lane. The driver of the vehicle had self extricated and was being tended to by EMS upon the arrival of Utility and Rescue 39. Units assisted the State Police and Gazzerro's Towing for about 45 minutes then returned. Units on the call: Rescue 39, Utility 39, Ambulance 46 and Medic 46-1 Several hours later Tanker 39 was dispatched to assist Station 37 with a working garage fire.
