Po-Mar-Lin Stand By

A crew of 5 took Engine 39-3 to the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company in Unionville to cover for them while they attended the memorial service for Longwood firefighter, James McGrovern. While the crew did not get any calls while they did enjoy a good lunch from Hood's. The crew was released by 2pm.

Longwood Stand By
November 17, 2010

A crew with engine 39-3 went to the Longwood Fire Company (Station 25) to cover calls for a few hours while the company was out of service dealing with the loss of firefighter J. McGovern. Many of the area fire companies have offered their help and support by taking shifts around the clock so that the members of Longwood can support the McGovern family. While the standing by at the station, the crew took it upon themselves to help clean the bay floors and clear some of the leaves from around the firehouse.

Assist to Kennett
November 17, 2010

While on stand by at the Longwood Fire Company, Engine 39-3 was dispatched to the 500 block of W South Street in Kennett Square to assist Station 24 on a house fire. Engine 39-3 was the 2nd Engine on scene and hooked up to the fire hydrant to supply Engine 24 with water. The crew set up ladders around the house and assisted with ventilation.

Engine Relocate
November 16, 2010

Station 39 was dispatched around 9:45 AM for an engine to relocate to First West Chester Station 51 to cover local calls while the West Chester Fire Dept was operating a fire at one of the apartment buildings on the east end of town. The crew was released shortly before noon.
